What's the difference between barbecuing and grilling?

Answer:
You think about, um, the people who live in Kansas who pride themselves on barbecuing where they marinate and then smoke, uh, whatever that meat might be. Uh, whereas grilling is you are taking, uh, any kind of protein or fruit or vegetable and putting it directly on heat. Usually barbecuing is at a lower, slower temperature. That's how I understand it.
