Question:
In Plant Based Pro, the Fats Chart in task 90 says, “Review the following chart thoroughly as you may be assessed on it.” The Herb & Spice chart from 99 says similar. Sweeteners (96) mentions no assessment. Can you clarify how well we should know each?
— Melissa Bryant
Answer:
So yeah, those charts are basically kind of listing out different, um, uh, you know, different characteristics of each one of those. So the fat chart in particular will tell you different smoke points, different things to be able to use different oils for if you're going to be using them. Um, you know, so it's, uh, it's, it's based like it's basic, uh, information, um, to be able to kind of get a good understanding of. And I think that that's probably what I would, uh, look at on those charts is to be able to get a good understanding of them. But you don't have to memorize each one. I'm not gonna specifically ask you, um, you know, what the, well, I might ask you what the, the smoke point of olive oil is in particular, but, um, I might not ask you what the smoke point of, uh, avocado oil is. Um, now the kind of quick answer for this is you don't have to memorize everything on that, but you might be quizzed on some of the general knowledge from those charts. So you definitely want to have a good general understanding of all the information that is on those charts. Um, I can't tell you what is going to be assessed specifically because we do randomize our assessments on those. So each student will have a different quiz or assessment each time we take them. So if you're taking it with a friend, you can't actually say, oh, the answer to number two is this, because their number two will be completely different than yours. Um, so yeah, when you are looking at those charts, just have a general understanding of what the chart, um, is saying and that should help you, uh, get through your assessments just fine.
