Question:
Black Pepper irritates my stomach. What could I use instead for soups?
— Rhonda Morgan
Answer:
Well, black pepper comes from a family called Piper Nigeria, and that's your black pepper, your white pepper and your green pepper. But pink peppercorns, however, come from a completely different plant, the Brazilian pepper tree. So I would say get yourself some pink peppercorns, roast them a little bit on the stove until you hear them popping and then grind them yourself. Try the pink pepper, um, because it's from a totally different species of plant. And if that doesn't work, if what you're lacking is that, that that spiciness try some hot peppers kept sayin um, something that's gonna bring that, that hotness to your plates if that's what you're actually craving.
