Question:
I am just beginning plant based but my spouse loves meat! Do you have any tips?
— Jacqueline Howell
Answer:
Yeah, you know, I have been a relationships like that in the past where my partner eight meet and I didn't and the biggest thing I can say is have a little bit of flexibility, but also You know the same time you eat your plant-based meals and that's great when you're cooking if if you're cooking all the plant-based meals then you know, I typically would recommend that the other person cook the meats, you know, even if it's just the things that I was talking about earlier if it's just a sauteing a little bit of chicken to put into one of the dishes you have that's fine. But if you're doing you're planning out your meals just tell them in that can same consideration to say like look I'm doing these meals this week. And on Monday we're doing I don't know like a pasta, you know pasta dish they will we're doing spaghetti and I'm making making vegan meatballs with this. So if you don't want them vegan meatballs, you have to make your own, you know meatballs, but I would consider trying the vegan meat pulse first. And they're all kinds of different recipes to do those from lentils to Satan to all kinds of different things to make things happen. But what you'll find is that if you're making the meals that the person that you know is eating them is typically going to err on the side of you cooking it and being like, okay, I guess I'll try this and you'll still end up finding that the plant-based meals are great and they don't really need the meat that they thought they did. So, um, you know, I think that's a great way to be able to kind of look at it is to be able to say, you know, like I'm going to do this now if it's for kids, that's a completely different situation. You know, but if it's a spouse it's a little bit of like, okay, like I've made this decision and in order for you to help me support this decision. I'm going to cook our meals but if you want to add something that's plant-based into it or if you want to add something that's meat into it. You're more than welcome to because I don't want to you know, limit you on what you want, but you'll have to cook that portion of it. So I hope that helps a little bit.
