Question:

Do you have any culinary books/podcasts/websites that you recommend?

— Amy Fuller

Answer:

So that's actually a great question. There's so many different things out there and tons and tons of different books. You know, I used to tell people for years that my favorite book is a cookbook. if you will was the The flavor Bible now, they have a couple different versions of the flavor Bible. They have the traditional flavor viable and the the vegetarian flavor Bible actually on both of them. And basically what that book is is it's a list of ingredients in alphabetical order and they show what those ingredients pair with which is a great tool for any chef or home cook because you can basically go through and find great pairings and great ideas of different flavors. It really fit well together. You'll find that there aren't any actual recipes in the book, but it's a great way to be able to find inspiration. And be able to look for different pairings for those. So that's always one of my number one recommendations for a cookbook even though that I cookbook. Now there are some other ones that came out this past year that actually got some great recognition. One of them was the James Beard award-winning vegan Korean or it's the creek Korean like have the book writer here. I need to Can't remember what it is, but I think it's speaking. Korean is another one of those there's also let's see. Another favorite is actually the to Asia with love which is a great cookbook kind of showing traditional ish kind of, you know, Asian dishes. now depending on what kind of cooking you like to do, you know for kind of very straightforward kind of here's exactly what to do on a bunch of different recipes the The Milk Street cookbook for vegans is actually a pretty good one. My wife is a big fan of the Oh She Glows cookbook. Just because it really kind of sets things out for her and the way that she likes to be able to follow them. But yeah, those are probably some of the books I would recommend. I'm sorry a little bit of cold. So I might cough a couple times on this too. But podcasts podcasts are very unique to each person, you know, so there are a lot of different podcasts that I listen to. But I really love listening to some of them are like carryovers from like NPR like The Splendid Table has always been a favorite of mine with the old host and the new host. Actually there are a lot of different ones that kind of work for some people though. Like I really like David Chang's podcast, but I know he's not everybody's cup of tea, you know, because he's definitely got a different style of presenting and comes from a very chef-centric kind of a place. And he's not at all vegan, you know, so I do know that ritual is a vegan podcast. It's a very popular one same with the engine 2 podcasts, but all really great, you know podcasts to go with those now website-wise. Wow, there's just so many different ones out there. It's really hard to you know, and I'd have to list like tons and tons of them to be able to go through and you know partly the way fun those is by looking through recipes. So if I'm looking for a specific recipe I will come across different ranked recipes and depending on how the recipe reads I might explore further into their websites to be able to see those, you know, and there's some that you look for personality and then some you look for actual recipes the personality wise there's a lot of fun, you know vegan, you know. personalities out there and some of them know how to recipe and write a recipe and some of them don't So that's a little bit of self exploration that I invite you to be able to do. So, I hope that helps Amy I can see the Patrick is adding links to all of these as I go here, which is great to be able to see all of these podcasts and all these different the plant strong podcast series. Thanks Bob Patrick. So those are all great different podcasts and books to be able to check out.
