Any recommendations for purchasing a mandoline slicer?

Answer:
Try to find one that has a guard on it. I can't tell you how many friends and family members. I've had lose the tips of their fingers from using mandolins. So get one that actually has a guard on it. So when you're putting the food on the mandolin slicer you have a guard on the top that will protect your fingers. I also recommend getting a cut glove and a cut glove is just a glove you can put on the hand you're using with it that you can literally drag a knife through your hand and cut it. So using a glove with mandolins good idea.
