Question:

Is there a way to tell a good recipe from a bad one?

— Aixa Torregrosa-Vazquez

Answer:

There is but that's a little hard to explain. Pardon me. If let's see, it's is there a way to some triggers that I will see if it's a good or a bad recipe if in your head you're basically putting it together and you know, it's not going to work. You're probably right, you know, there are some trickier things though. Sometimes you just have to test recipes. I've tested recipes for a lot of friends for a lot of different books for a lot of different things, you know, and part of it is just testing it to see how it's going to go. But if you're looking at a recipe on the page, it's really hard to be able to tell if it's going to work or not after you've cooked it. That's when you know, it's a good or a bad rest for you. If it's a good recipe, it's fantastic. It tastes just like it should it's a bad recipe. It seems like something didn't go right right. So I did this on a recipe the day where I made. blueberry oat bars For my family and I followed a recipe out of a book to the tea just because I'd not made this particular one and when it came out it was much too gooey. And I knew exactly what was wrong was that they told me to soak my dates and apple juice and they told it was like a cup of dates to a cup and a half of apple juice. And when I did that after I blended it all up and put it into the oats the oats were super super moist. There's just too much liquid in it. So the next time I made it I reduced the liquid by at least a half a cup. It might have been more. And I just knew that the recipe was a little different than had been written. Some things are taking account on those two depends on where you are elevation wise things cook longer. A different elevations so that might be part of the recipe too. But so yeah, the short answer is to be able to look at something on the page. You have to have a lot of experience to know the recipes going to work out or if it's not going to the best way is really to try it out and see for yourself.
