Steps

Step 1: Preparing the Juice

Preparing the Juice
  • 2 large carrots
  • 2 apples
  • 2 beets
  • 6 collard green leaves

Method

This recipe makes enough for two 10-ounce servings.

To prepare the juice, wash all of the ingredients. Cut the ends off of the beets and cut smaller, if needed. If they will fit through your juicer, then there is no need to cut them smaller.

Put all of the ingredients through a juicer. Serve immediately.

Chef's Notes

For the best results, use fresh organic fruits and vegetables whenever possible.

How do you personally deal with beetroot staining your juicer? I´m always shy of juicing beetroot as much as I love it just because of the seemingly inevitable staining of the plastic casing. I also like: 4 raw baby beets 2 apples 1 nice spicy red chilli

So far, my juicer has been pretty good. I just make sure to clean it immediately after I use it. I suppose it also makes a difference which juicer you have. I have a Breville, which I am quite happy with. There are also higher priced, more powerful ones on the market, but I do not own one of those. I know some people line the large cup (where the pulp goes) with a plastic bag, but I don't find that necessary. You could try rubbing your juicer with lemon juice to see if that that helps. I know some people say that products such as "Oxy Clean" work well to remove stains, but personally, I just don't feel great about using anything harsh on something that I use to make juice — that I am going to consume. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Cheers!

Should I use a slow juicer? which is also called a cold pressed slow juicer...

Hello, Gaurav: thanks for writing. A cold-pressed juicer is fabulous, but this juice will work well in any juicer. Thanks for writing. Cheers, Char
