Question:
What is the difference between roasting when using convection oven or conventional oven?
— ly brod
Answer:
So for Christmas, I treated myself to a countertop. It was a convection oven with a regular oven, and I thought that I would love it so much, and it had so many bells and whistles on it that every time I used it, I felt like I was landing a helicopter. This is a true story. And so once I got used to it, I made a very conscious decision to not use anything but the conventional oven. And remember that the words convection and conventional can often be confusing. So here's the thing. If you have one of those, maybe you have a whole oven that has a convection item to it, you want to remember that convection requires 25 more excuse me, degrees than a conventional oven. So if the recipe calls for you to make oatmeal cookies at 350 degrees in the convection oven, you're going to want to make them at 375 degrees Fahrenheit. You can do the conversion with going into Sonnig. I have to get out a calculator to do that. So that is the difference. That was a question from Liby. I hope that that was helpful. And you have to do what you know and what you feel most comfortable doing. So I hope that you are enjoying your new convection oven and would love to hear back how you think your food is finishing as you compare it to having used a conventional oven. So that's a great question. Thank you so much.
