Can spices be measured and put together in setting up a mise en place if there is no specific detail to the order they are to be added to a recipe?
Answer
Yes. Actually that that can completely be done. In fact, I know a lot of people will just have a mix of the spices for something that they're doing. Like they know that's going to be equal parts say I don't know human and equal, you know, it's going to be a tablespoon of human and a tablespoon of chili powder. They might just have that already, you know mixed together and they can just take a tablespoon out of each and measure two tablespoons of the same thing out put it the same container. It's fine to be able to put in now. There are there is something to say about layering flavors though in those so like if you're doing something that can chilly like those two, you know ingredients in particular I might saute onions first and put a little bit of the chili powder and after I've sauteed my onions and then add my next ingredient add a little human, you know, but then add a little bit more chili powder as I kind of go through the different layers as I'm cooking and you'll see that actually Was at a depth of flavor that might not be there if you're not kind of layering it in there. But if there are no instructions like that and it says just put in a tablespoon of cumin and a tablespoon of chili powder and they're the same time in your Meson plus it's totally okay to be able to do that for a reason Plus on the process pictures that we asked to be able to do it. It's probably best to keep them separated. Even if it's on the same plate or in the same Bowl just so we can see that you're actually using all those ingredients in in your process shutter in your meals and plus shot as well too. But if you're just cooking at home and using your reason plus it's totally okay just to put it all over the same container and even have it mixed and that's totally fun.
