Question:
It seemed on the videos on slicing that the knife was in right hand and in some videos in left hand. Am I cross-eyed?
— Marilyn Brodhurst
Answer:
Uh, you are correct, um, uh, not about the cross eye part, but about the, the, the knife being in the left hand, uh, or the right hand, as we have some different folks, uh, demonstrating knife cuts depending on what it is that you're watching. And, um, after all, there are left-handed cooks and right-handed cooks out there. And so we do, um, uh, present a couple of different options. But, uh, for the individual cook, uh, including you, um, Marilyn, uh, the norm is to hold the knife in your dominant hand and to move through, uh, the, the motions of, uh, of slicing and dicing. Okay? Uh, some of us are ambidextrous, and we can, we can juggle knives, uh, in, in both hands, but for most of us, uh, we pick a hand and, uh, it's our dominant hand, and we work with that one. Thank you.
