Question:

If you are limited on funds, what would be the first things you would suggest we get to start our home bakery?
— Marie Sow
Answer:
Well, Marie, you are going, you know, we have this kind of saying, the culinary peoples have a saying and it is TBD, tasty but deadly. And that means, and that really applies to people who are making food in their home that aren't licensed. So you are going to need to check, every municipality has different rules for starting a home based business. And I'm assuming, or I'm going to assume that you have already checked that out. Excuse me, I need a sip of water here. So you wanna check that out and you are going to have to pay for licenses and inspections and so on. So that is what I would say first start with that. You need to, um, have some kind of a certification, uh, of your, you know, safe serve or some of the others. So good luck with that. Do a lot of looking, do a lot of research and then you can get going.
