Question:
If you are unable to use cashews in vegan cheese sauces, what would you recommend using?
— Lynda Essex
Answer:
Uh, you know, I would say use a different nut or seed that you can use, you know, sunflower seeds, uh, you know, come to mind if you wanna avoid nuts entirely. And let's see here. Uh, it could be a legume, um, you know, tofu, which is a soybean based product, uh, is used often, uh, to make dressings for its, uh, creaminess. Um, but other legumes can be used as well. Uh, you know, note that, um, you know, to some extent that texture, color, you know, uh, even flavor, you know, can, can shift a little bit. So you gotta find something that's gonna work for you, that's gonna be true of using, um, sunflower seeds. Uh, also, or, you know, some other seed that might work for you is that, um, there's going to be a unique flavor associated with that different product. So give it a try and see if you like it. Um, be open to some experimenting and, uh, you know, you're bound to, to find something that, uh, works well for you.
