Question:
Fruits seem to require some pesticide applications. How do you clean fruits to minimize this as we consume more fruits for their health benefits?
— Brian Luly
Answer:
As we can see, consume more fruits for their health benefits. Brian and I always go to do science, um, consumer science for the public interest and they have their clean 15 and they're due or a dozen. And I try and shop as much as I can with the clean 15. When it comes to pesticides, you can, um, again, if you soak your fruit, just make sure that the skin's on so that it's not exposed to the air. Um, right. And you can get the pesticides that have reside on the outside of the fruit, but pesticides also go inside the fruit and there's nothing you're gonna do to take those away. But what science says again and again and again is that eating a diet full of fruits and vegetables, even if they have pesticides, is more beneficial than not eating fruits and vegetables. And we just live in a world, I'm sorry, that has lots of pesticides and I wish they'd stopped that.
