Question:
Can you freeze cooked beans from scratch?
— Sandra Kost
Answer:
Yeah, so you can definitely freeze cooked beans. Um, you know, I usually do 'em in smaller batches, so like a half a cup, um, you know, is probably good just so they, you have it and, uh, they'll thaw well and that won't be just all stuck in one big puck. Um, you know, but I would say about six months on them is probably about as long as you wanna be able to do them. I usually keep them in a mason jar, uh, when I'm freezing them as well too. Uh, leave a bit, a little, little bit of room in them because sometimes the water and the ice from the freezer will help them expand a little bit, but absolutely you can, uh, freeze cook beans. Oh, try not to cook 'em all the way too, if you know that you're going to freeze some of them, try to park them a bit so you can cook 'em a little bit when they come out.
