Question:
What would be a good replacement for oil when making homemade dressing?
— Toni Crawford
Answer:
So that kind of depends on the dressing you're making. So if you're making something like a ranch or a creamy dressing or something like that, I would actually add silk and tofu into it with the herbs and the other things that you're using. Um, if it's like a vinegarette, um, using the vinegar, uh, is fine, but you might want to have a fat to be able to go along with that. So maybe an avocado or something would actually be great to be able to replace out into that as well too. Um, you could do like, you know, the Dijon or the fruit paste kind of things as well too with a little bit of vinegar with those too. Um, and a little bit of water would go well with those. Now we have a huge section on no oil, um, dressings on Rouxbe. I would definitely check those out for kind of the staples to be able to start yourself out on.
