Question:

I have been asked do a demonstration for a WFPB group in March. I’m not sure what a going rate might be. Any suggestions on what to offer?

— Anna Marie Trotman

Answer:

That's a very tough question, Anna Marie, because, um, everybody's going to be different on those. Uh, I typically tell people to start off, um, you know, like you, you, you want to charge what you're worth, but at the same time, you want repeat customers too. And if you're just doing this for the first time, it's a learning experience for you. So consider it like you're paying. At the same time too, you don't wanna charge a fortune to be able to do something like this, but you also wanna be able to recoup your fees on this. So make sure that you're at least covering the costs of your supplies and some of your, uh, labor time as well too. If it's the first time you're doing it, make sure you're at least covering the supplies and a bit of the time that you're doing, um, for any kind of help, any kind of rentals or dishes, any kind of rental for space as well too. Um, but you know, as you continue to do this, you can increase the price basically as you go and you get more used to it, you'll get, you know exactly what it's going to make it worth your york time as well. Um, I typically, when I'm doing kinds of things like that, um, you're, you're either doing an a for exposure or you're doing it, um, or for profit. Um, and it needs to be worth your time on one of those categories to be able to make that work. And for everybody, that's a little bit different.
