Question:

Why does the course recommend steaming over microwaving? Microwaving is quick and convenient for reheating, etc.
— Kim Cook
Answer:
Yeah, so there, there is a, a science behind microwave and basically what you're doing in microwaving is you're heating up the water mo molecules within something. Um, and they're moving so fast that it basically heats it up. Um, now there's a debate upon that if that actually helps deplete some of the micro macronutrients that are in the food. Um, if you're talking about specifically just microwaving to reheat something like a cup of coffee, make tea, things like that, that's completely fine. Um, if you're using a microwave kind of like every day to be able to make your food, I might recommend steaming it instead, just depending on the time factor. That being said, if you know you're not gonna eat your broccoli because you don't have the time to steam it, but you do have the time to microwave it, microwave it, 'cause at least you're getting something in that broccoli category, right? So, um, kind of have to pick out what's convenient for you to be able to make sure that it works for you. So I would definitely recommend steaming over microwaving, but again, if it's a time and convenience thing, in order for you to eat your vegetables.
