Question:

Would adding lemon to cashew parmesan to give it some tang increase the cheese flavor?

— Maria Allen

Answer:

I mean, any sort of a, um, you know, acid, something that imparts acidity is going to give it some tang, as I mentioned a few minutes ago, as we make a, a change in this case, in addition to a recipe, you've got a taste, and then you have flavors, right? That acomp that taste typically to think about. So if you want some acidity, you know, you think about lemon juice or lime juice, or maybe it's citric acid powder, um, or there are other ingredients also that impart sourness or tartness. And then think about the accompanying flavor. And the lemon juice will, of course, give you a lemon flavor versus lime juice, which will give you a similar sourness, but it'll impart a different accompanying flavor. So again, give, give these things a try and see how you like them. And, you know, what comes to mind for me is that you might choose to use different items depending on how you use your cashew Parmesan, because that flavor that's now imparted to that cashew parmesan might go better with a certain, uh, dish that you're preparing versus a different dish that you're preparing. Okay? So, again, give these a try, take notes and, uh, you know, go forth by enjoying some more complex cooking, some more varied and, and nuanced cooking.
