Question:
Which non-stick cookware brand is the most durable in your opinion?
— Roy L. Cox
Answer:
And I love answering this question because every day there seems to be a new pot or a new pan or something like that. So I think that right now my favorite brand of pan, and I don't have an endorsement with them, Ruby doesn't endorse them, but they make oil-free cooking really enjoyable and the brand is Caraway, like the seed. And I've had an 11-inch skillet for about three years, and it is in perfect condition. It doesn't have any nicks. It's got, I think, a triple coating of ceramic on it. You can cook oil-free with it. I do everything in that one pan, and I'll show you in a second what one of the roasting pans looks like. And if you go to @rubyplants, I'll be posting a video later this afternoon to show you exactly how well even french fry potatoes can cook in the oven at 425 degrees without any oil, and you will see how the potatoes just slide off the pan. My other favorite, and this is tried and true, is that I have some Le Creuset that is 45 years old, and it cooks beautifully. I used it today to make something that I'll show you in a minute. But whether you bake with them or cook stove top with them, I've even put them on the barbecue so that they can do their heating element in there. But they work really well. And I'll also say that if any of you are shoppers at places like Lidl, Lidl sells a copycat version of Le Creuset, and I have several pieces of that, and they cook beautifully as well. And I've had those for three or four years, and they haven't nicked or chipped. So I think that that's a good thing. And if you saw my 45-year-old Le Creuset, you would say to yourself, "This woman has cooked a lot of food in those pans." So, it's kind of interesting. So I'll show you the pan at the end, because right now it has a couple of things on it.
