Can you share a little bit about the amazing programs going on at local libraries there in PA for culinary folk?
Answer
The city of Philadelphia is very fortunate that it has three Charlie Carts, and you've heard me speak frequently about my devotion of the Charlie Cart, which is a 600-pound full kitchen on wheels. The Free Library of Philadelphia has the Culinary Literacy Center, and that is what I call the big house. It's a gigantic, beautiful library on what's called the Parkway, and it has a full hotel kitchen on the third floor. And I have some classes coming up in the fall and winter, which always excites me. On the local level, every library in Philadelphia offers some kind of cooking class. And usually, my cooking classes happen to be hands-on because I do believe that psychomotor learning is the way that I teach, and it's a good way for people to learn. But that could go on and on, Gary. I have coming up a series working with teenagers. And I was an elementary school teacher, some of you might not know that. So I've done elementary, middle school, high school, older adults, and I had to change my whole direction working with teenagers to make everything seem hip and cool, because that's how they choose to be.
