Question
Debbie Cosentino
Can you recommend a pancake recipe that will do well with oven baking?
Answer
Wow. Um, uh, uh, this is a kind of a, a question for me from, from left field. Um, you know, without testing out recipes, I don't necessarily know how they're gonna work in an unconventional environment. So what I would recommend, Debbie, is to take your favorite, um, uh, uh, pancake recipe, and go ahead and test it out in the oven. Okay? And, you know, you might try a, a couple of things. And, uh, you know, one could be that you preheat, um, I don't know if you're thinking about using a pan in the, uh, you know, like a, a skillet in the oven or a sheet pan in the oven, but you might consider preheating the pan in the oven. Uh, and then, you know, pulling the, the, uh, the, the rack out carefully. Uh, you know, safety is, uh, is job one here, uh, and then lading on the batter, and then pushing that back into the oven to, to cook. Um, you know, the other consideration may be to create a batter that's a little bit stiffer than usual, so that you can then pour that into a cold pan and then slide that into the oven, uh, because it'll require just a little bit more time, um, for that heat to, uh, to do its work and for those, uh, starches to, uh, uh, to set up. Okay? Um, and so those are a couple of things that come to mind for me as I would approach such, uh, an experiment. Um, but, but as an experimenting, indeed is what will be necessary here. Please enjoy the process.
