Question:
I have loved my cast iron cookware that I've used for more than 45 years, but especially the larger pieces are getting harder and harder to manage because of weight. What do I switch to?
— Marianne Kestenbaum
Answer:
So most of the, uh, cookware on the market, or certainly a, uh, uh, you know, a lot of choices are gonna be based on stainless steel, uh, or an aluminum alloy of some sort. And, um, sometimes it's even a combination, right? Where we have layers of metal, um, aluminum and copper and stainless steel, that's all, um, layered into, into one piece of cookware to do its magic. So, you know, I recommend that you look at these other materials that cookware are made from, um, that are also gonna be easy to care for and long lasting. Uh, and then also consider smaller pieces of cookware that, uh, you know, whether it's cast iron or otherwise, which will be lighter in weight than, um, you know, a, uh, a, a larger piece.
