Being diabetic, how do fruit desserts affect our blood sugar? Does it matter what time of day we eat the dessert? Like late at night vs right after dinner?

Answer:

Well, Randy, I am not a medical professional, so I'm not going to give you that kind of specific advice, but I do know that Dr. Michael Gregor, who many of us follow, and he is a very trusted source, says that fruit does not raise blood sugar. You know, you have to think about quantity as well, but when you're eating the whole fruit, it has some fiber in it. When you're having fruit juice, that's another story. So you might wanna check with your medical professional, definitely check what Dr. Michael Gregor has to say about that and some, uh, and I think you'll feel okay about that. Um, I think it, uh, in terms of the time of the day, I don't know. I just say, you know, I learned when, when I was first transitioning from traditional diet, traditional pastry work to a vegan lifestyle, that quantity changes quality. So even the something that is super, super healthy, if you overeat it, it's not gonna be so healthy.
