Question:

I'm trying to avoid sugar, dairy and gluten. But would love to have something to just munch on, or suck on like hard candies. Is there such a thing that exist avoiding those things?

— Ann Smith

Answer:

You know when it comes to like snacks or candies a lot of them really leverage those simple sugars those carbohydrates. You know, that's just one of the kind of the easy Hallmarks of those sorts of foods being sweet, you know kind of easy to eat and so on I would say if you're really just craving something you want something to munch on. I love cutting up fruits and vegetables to me the the sweetness of carrots and red peppers and those sorts of things is fantastic. If you tolerate things like nuts and seeds, they're all those also while higher and fat and higher in calories are very satisfying probably cause you to want to munch a little bit less and also just fresh fruit. I mean fruit gets a bad rap because if it's inherent sugar quality, but with whole fruit, you also get the amazingness of you know, the water content and the inside and soluble fiber which you know gives fruit its structure. It gives it the the texture and the Crunch and all the search of things saying an apple or a pair. But also really does a good job of filling you up. So for people who kind of caution against fruit, you know, excess of fruit, I would just say, you know for most of us we get pretty satisfied after eating an apple or two apples or if you cut up an apple and a pear Um, that's gonna be pretty satisfying for most people even though calorically not too much of a load certainly much different than drinking fruit juice or drinking fruit that's been blended into smoothie or that sort of thing. But the act of of chewing that food in particular those fiber rich foods, like fruits and vegetables adds to that kind of quality of feeling satisfied from your food. So, you know find those things that you like that seem maybe just a little bit more of a treat for you maybe not all fruits and vegetables fit the bill, but, you know having those things on hand, I think can be really really good. One of the things I also like to do with fresh cut fruit is put it in the freezer some people like the snack of having some like frozen or partially frozen grapes or cantaloupe or Melon berries certainly work really well in that context sometimes for people that At a temperature Dimension can make it seem a little bit more like a treat or a fun snack versus you know room room temperature. So hopefully that helps you Melissa good luck with that, you know kind of idea or and rather good luck with that idea of having some other things you can munch on.
