Question:
Is flax egg a reliable binder? Also what's a good measurement to substitute one egg?
— Zac Chelbi
Answer:
Yeah flax egg is a great reliable binder. There's not really a one-to-one ratio measurement on that for substitution because it really depends on what you're binding at the same time. I'm sorry to tell you typically about a tablespoon of flax ground flax to to tablespoons of water is usually what is the substitute for one egg, but that can vary again depending on what you're using it for just make sure it's ground as well before you use it because if it's not ground it's not going to bind in the same way. But yeah, you might need to do a little experimentation with that. But that's typically the standard for a substitute one egg is to one tablespoon of flax and two tablespoons of water. And let that sit for a little bit too. Probably at least an hour.
